Karen Barbee

Find out about this internationally renowned belly dance instructor with a special love for improvisation and the music behind the belly dance.

Karen Barbee

Karavan Studio owner and professional belly dancer, Karen Barbee Adkisson, has been teaching students in the art of belly dance techniques for more than 30 years.

Her expertise at the national and international level is technique and professional progression. With an analytical background, Karen's methodical approach to belly dancing integrates movement analysis; breakdown of that movement; and then relating it in a logical fashion to her students.

Karen has published an e-book on her philosophies as well as an adult coloring book, Kolor Your Perspective, with some of her most popular philosophy topics.

Karavan Studio in San Antonio, Texas has been home to belly dance training for all ages and fitness levels since 1988.

For the serious dance student, from beginners to the competitive performer, women of all ages learn the art of belly dancing in a structured, culturally respectful environment.

Private, group, workshop, and online belly dancing video lessons are available to registered students. Affordably priced, belly dancing instruction can be available to anyone interested in mastering this artful cultural dance.
